Best Stock Exchange in Southeast Asia

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) was awarded as the Best Stock Exchange in Southeast Asia  by financial magazine Alpha Southeast Asia  during the 7th Annual Best Deal and Solution Awards held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last Jan. 23. The recognition was given to the PSE following a record-breaking 2013 for the Philippine stock market despite the volatility of equities markets worldwide. Among the achievements cited were the PSEi’s breach of the 7,000-mark, the remarkable growth of trading activity, the significant capital raising activity during the year. The organizers also recognized the various corporate governance initiatives spearheaded by the PSE. PSE COO Roel Refran (right) received the award from Alpha Southeast Asia publisher Siddiq Bazarwala.
