MANILA, Philippines - Singapore-based information technology solutions provider Danateq Pte. Ltd. is bent on transforming the Philippines as its global production hub to complement its research and development (R&D) operations in Russia.

Mario Domingo, business head of Danateq’s cognitive software technology, said in an interview that the company intends to triple its workforce in the Philippines by hiring 100 more employees in the next 12 to 18 months to complement its existing workforce of 50 workers.

â€œWe have an awesome opportunity in the Philippines. Our first sale happened in the Philippines and it just happened that our first seed sprouted in the Philippines,” Domingo stressed.

He pointed out that Danateq has designed a number of solutions that use the core cognitive capabilities to address a number of industry challenges. Its cognitive-based solutions deliver a mechanism that dramatically simplifies and streamlines delivery of customer services, allowing “on-the-fly” service optimization, always adapting to the changing market.

He added that the company has designed a number of solutions addressing particular industry business objectives and deploy leading edge technology to deliver flexible, low risk solutions tailored to suit the customer.

Domingo said telecom is Danateq’s main target in the Philippines but it is also looking at banking, remittances, and disaster management.

He explained that the company helps clients find ways to operate and adapt to changing business climates with more agility through cognitive software to analyze real time and live information, apply contextual knowledge, and instantly execute an action.

The company’s cognitive analytics and hardened high availability control framework form the basis of a range of products, having many diverse applications across industries diverse as telecoms, retail, banking, internet Police or customs, disaster relief, defense, border control, transport, and health.

According to him, the Philippines would serve as the production roll out of the solutions developed in Russia for other countries.

Aside from the Philippines, Danateq is looking at penetrating other markets including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and North America.

He added that other industries being considered in other countries include telcos, banks, casinos, and even airlines.

Domingo said the Philippines could also serve as Danateq’s backroom office.

Danateq has tied up with PLDT’s wireless arm Smart Communications Inc. and Ayala-led Globe Telecom Inc. It has entered into extensive services agreements with the two major telecommunications providers to establish its presence in the country.
