PMA names new board for 2013
MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Marketing Association (PMA), the country’s first and foremost marketing organization, has elected its new board for 2013 led by president Vince Reyes.
Reyes, managing director of EDIMCF, Inc., an integrated marketing communications group, succeeds Center for Pop president Gwen Albarracin who will continue to serve as ex-officio immediate past president.
The new board faces challenges head on as it leads the organization in developing and promoting marketing as a science, art and noble profession guided mainly by the universal principles of ethics, corporate citizenship and social advocacy. Further, the board aims to serve as a policy-making and recommendatory arm of the government on marketing-related issues. It is a signatory to the Integrity Initiative national movement.
Also serving in the 2013 PMA Board are: EVP Yayu Javier (Avanza, Inc. country manager); VP-membership Pinky Yee (Goldilocks managing director); VP-youth & academe Iris Laureola (Ateneo Center for Continuing Education Mktg. Services group head); VP-education & research/CPM Angel Guerrero (Adobo Magazine president & editor-in-chief); VP-chapters Malou Malaluan (DLSU-Lipa MarCom dept. manager); Board secretary Richard Yang (Catalytx Advertising managing director); Treasurer Gwen Galvez (Anvil Publishing marketing manager); internal auditor & dir. for consumer affairs Albert Banaag (Microtel Inns & Suites marketing director). Completing the Board are the directors for the top functions: meetings & attendance – Jerry Yao (Manila Adventist faculty member); workshop/symposia and special events – Cynthia Mamon (Enchanted Kingdom VP & COO); Agora Awards – Hil Barcarse (Hilderbrand Associated Business Corp. CEO); PR/corp. communications – Cherry Kho (Blue-thumb Graphics managing director); government and community affairs - Gigi Rodriguez (AGR Xperts Corp. VP). The new board takes its oath of office by end of January.
The board, carrying the theme “Creating Relevance Through Value Marketing,†commits to bolster the role and impact of the association in the lives of marketing professionals via networking, business partnerships and advocacy projects. As president, Vince Reyes pledges to make servitude to its members a top priority while the association develops deeper relationships with other organizations and institutions and strengthens its presence in the Asian Marketing Federation.
