Ayala Land wins CSR award from AIM

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) has won this year’s Asian CSR Award for Environment and Value Chain Management for its innovative land development program that promotes sustainable communities.

ALI was among the five companies recognized by the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) for embodying the principles of corporate responsibility in their business philosophy and operations. It bested 87 entries from 13 Asian countries.

It was cited particularly for having “implemented innovative approaches to sustainability in its land development activities, especially by providing opportunities for everyone, regardless of social class, to live in a more sustainable environment.”

“The commitment to grow the business comes with an equally important responsibility to make sure that our developments impact positively on people and the environment,” Antonino T. Aquino, ALI president and CEO said in a statement. “We will continue to raise the quality of life for more Filipinos through our integrated, mixed-use, and sustainable communities.”

In 2009, ALI also won an Asian CSR award for its “Green” Training, an on-going learning program, which provides employees a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of sustainability practices as applied in property development.

The AIM Asian CSR Awards Program, which began in 2003, honors companies across Asia which promote corporate responsibility in their business philosophy and operations. Companeis that have received the award are known for their continuous innovation and implementation of sustainable and socially responsible approaches to business.

The Asian CSR awards program’s focus areas include Environment and Value Chain Management, Governance and Society, Labor and Employee Engagement, and Product Responsibility and Human Rights.
