Government agencies score high in MBC survey

MANILA, Philippines - Members of the Makati Business Club (MBC) have given several government agencies very high marks in the second semester 2012 executive outlook survey conducted by the MBC from June 19 to 23.

Topping the list was the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas with a net rating of 94.6 percent, followed by the Department of Tourism and the Department of Finance (81.8 percent).

Also notable was the performance of the Office of the President which received a net satisfaction rating of 49.1 percent although this was topped by the Office of the Vice President which received a net rating of of 58.2 percent.

Other agencies also received high satisfactory ratings: Department of Budget and Management (70.9 percent), Securities and Exchange Commission (net 69.1 percent); Philippine Economic Zone Authority (net 67.3 percent); Department of Trade and Industry (65.4 percent); Department of Education (56.4 percent net score (78.2 percent); and the Department of Labor and Employment (56.3 percent).

“The government offices and services that received the lowest net satisfaction scores in the second semester 2012 EOS are the appeals and lower court system, traffic management, the Supreme Court, garbage collection and the Philippine National Police,” the MBC said.

The MBC’s Executive Outlook Survey (EOS) for the second semester 2012 covered 55 respondents from the period June 19 to July 23.
