Mead Johnson marks 50 years in Phl

-

MANILA, Philippines - Mead Johnson Nutrition (MJN) Philippines launched recently its year long celebration marking 50 years of trusted leadership in the field of pediatric nutrition, at the posh Sofitel Luxury Hotel in Pasay City. Vice President Jejomar Binay, who was the guest of honor and speaker, praised the company for its contribution in helping provide nutrition to Filipino children not only through its excellent quality products but also through its corporate social responsibility programs. In his remarks, MJN Philippines president and general manager Paul Richards said the event is a celebration of “how we are making a mark in modern Philippine history.” “It’s an opportunity to remind ourselves of the crucial role we play in promoting the health and nutrition of society...with our products, our people, our partners, our business contributions and our community programs,” Richards added. Founded in 1905 and acknowledged for over 100 years of expertise in nutrition for babies and children, Mead Johnson first came to the Philippines in 1952. The first Filipino salesman, Greg Z. Sycip, was hired by L.D. Seymour, the American sole distributor of Mead Johnson products in the country. In 1957, Mead Johnson strengthened its presence in the country and opened a local subsidiary office at the Manila Hotel Arcade. It became fully incorporated under Philippine laws five years later in February 1962. Mead Johnson is the maker of the leading brands Lactum, Enfa, Sustagen and Alacta lines of nutritional formula.
