3rd Marikina biz confab opens today

-

MANILA, Philippines - What started out earlier this year as a series of consultative meetings by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry - Marikina Chapter (PCCI-Marikina) with the different sectors in the business community - including its end-users/consumers - has snowballed into a bandwagon of sorts to revive the ailing state of the shoe industry in support of the city’s “Make-it-Marikina” campaign pitch.

On Nov. 28, PCCI-Marikina led by chamber president Eduardo C. Francisco - together with the city’s chief executive Mayor Del R. De Guzman — will host the 3RD Business Conference at Kapitan Moy in Sta. Elena in celebration of the declaration by the mayor of the month of November as “Business Month.”

The conference aims to redirect and refocus the various industries’ thrusts toward world class products, and to give inspiration to small and medium scale entrepreneurs by way of sharing their respective successful business formulas and experiences.

It is also an occasion to announce the hosts’ upcoming joint project dubbed “1ST Made-in-Marikina: Gawang Marikina, Gawang Kinikilala” Trade Exhibit to be held Dec. 15 to 18 at the SM Megamall Mega Trade Hall 2 wherein the city’s products and services like shoes, bags, leather-crafts, etc. will be showcased.

Francisco said the conference will also be the opportunity for the business sector to personally submit to the mayor its action agenda - in the form of various proposed resolutions for a sustainable development for the city of Marikina.
