Etihad named 'Leading Airline' in ME

MANILA, Philippines - Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, won four titles at the annual World Travel Awards ceremony for the Middle East, including the coveted title of the Middle East’s Leading Airline. The Abu Dhabi-based airline also received awards for Middle East’s Leading Airline First Class, Middle East’s Leading Cabin Staff and Middle East’s Leading Airline In-flight Entertainment. Decided by the votes of 213,000 travel industry professionals worldwide, the World Travel Awards’ spotlight the best in travel regionally and globally. Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways’ chief commercial officer, said: “It is truly an honor to win Leading Airline for the Middle East. Our home market is extremely important to Etihad, so I am especially pleased to be recognized by our guests and peers from the region in this way.” Etihad Airways’ Philippines country manager Roberto Hukom welcomed the announcement, commenting that the awards reaffirmed the airline’s enduring commitment to delivering superior quality service to its guests. With this title win, Etihad will be the only airline from the Middle East region in these categories at the global World Travel Awards held in London later in the year, where the best of the world compete.
