MANILA, Philippines – Turespaña, the headquarters for the tourism promotion office for Spain has appointed Enrique Ruiz de Lera as the new worldwide head for marketing. In his new role, Ruiz de Lera will direct the international promotional strategies for Spain and ensure that Spain remains the preferred European destination.
Similar to his tenure in Asia, Ruiz de Lera is expected to launch campaigns that will re-brand Spain and make the destination more engaging to the diverse global marketplace. Prior to his appointment as the worldwide head of marketing, Ruiz De Lera was the director of the National Tourist Office of Spain in Singapore for three and a half years.
He oversaw the marketing and promotional efforts in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Australia and New Zealand. One of his most memorable projects was the World Gourmet Summit in Singapore wherein he brought four renowned Spanish chefs to highlight the exquisite taste of Spanish cuisine.
