MANILA, Philippines - To reinforce its support for the local governments’ initiatives in promoting the Philippines as a premiere BPO-IT destination, Robinsons Sta. Rosa Market plays host to the very first stopover of the Convergence 2009 road show.

The event will be formally opened by Santa Rosa, Laguna Mayor Arlene Arcillas-Nazareno right after the “Cityhood Anniversary” program to be held in the same venue.
Metro Laguna has been chosen as the very first destination of this road show after bagging the no. 1 slot in the Next Wave Cities scorecard from an independent study conducted by the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPA/P) and other partner organizations in the BPO-IT, human resources, and real estate industries.
This Information and Communication Technology (ICT) road show aims to increase awareness and therefore ensure the supply of talents for the industry and enable small and medium enterprises to spur its growth through technology.
With the help of BPA/P and the Coordinating Council of Private Education Associations (COCOPEA), the event will highlight several comprehensive programs such as the BPO-IT Career Caravan, Community eCenter Program, BizSpark, Service Science Management and Engineering, eSkwela, iSchools, Creative Content Development Projects, Netop ng Bayan, eLGU and eSerbisyo, among others.
All these programs will be featured in a series of interactive activity such as plenary sessions, exhibits, call center job simulation, career assessments, job fairs, site tours of nearby BPO-IT sites, forums and more.
Aside from local government officials, this major event is expected to attract different delegates from different BPO companies from Metro Laguna and other nearby cities, participants from the academe, graduates, private sectors practitioners, potential investors, returning OFWs, IT entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders.
This national road show, which kicked-off in Metro Manila last June, will eventually follow in different Cyber Corridor Cities such as Metro Cavite, Davao, Lipa, Metro Cebu, Bacolod, Bulacan South and Central, Pampanga Central, Cagayan de Oro and Iloilo.
