Phil-Bahrain Business Council holds 3-day business forum
MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine-Bahrain Business Council (PBBC) of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the Bahrain-Philippine Business Council (BPBC) will hold a three-day business forum starting today at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
The forum, which includes one-on-one business matching session and council meeting, aims at strengthening the trade relations, tourism and investment between the two countries.
The business delegations are led by Dr. Esam Abdullah Yousif Fakhro, chairman of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and Jawas Yousif Alhawaj, chairman of the business council.
In a statement, PBBC said it is honored and proud to be the host for this year’s joint business council meeting. Amb. Amable R. Aguiluz V, PBBC chairman underscored that it has become an effective forum to promote further understanding among delegates from the various member economies since its inception last year.
“I am certain that there will be ample opportunity for all delegates to have dynamic interaction and to establish new networks and strategic alliances throughout the business forum,” he said.
He added that through these discussions and exploratory talks that partnerships and packages, in the form of business ventures, cooperation and collaboration in areas of common interest can be further enhanced.
Acting on the successful undertaking, PCCI president Edgardo Lacson is also giving his full support in the one-on-one business matching session that will be conducted for the high-level Bahrain business delegation.
The chamber’s key partner agencies such as the Department of Trade, the Board of Investments and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority are participating to present investment opportunities available.
Various trade associations and Filipinos companies are expected to join the session to discuss potential business cooperation that focuses on food processing, electronics, insurance services, agriculture, shipping, tourism, oil and gas products, healthcare, real estate and even manpower recruitment with Bahrain trade mission.
