Haresco named president of Phils-Peru Business Council

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) has appointed WinAce Holdings Philippines Inc. chairman Teodorico T. Haresco as president of the Philippines-Peru Business Council.

PCCI president Edgardo G. Lacson, informing Haresco of his appointment, said “PCCI believes that your expertise and experience on trade promotion will definitely help expand trade relations between the Philippines and Peru, quantitatively and qualitatively.”

Lacson said he looks forward to the continued contribution of Haresco to PCCI goals and objectives toward the attainment of a sustainable and conducive business environment.

In his brief response, Haresco said he looks forward to a wider horizon of business opportunities and investment from the Latin-American continent with Peru and the Philippines as gateways to Mainland Asia and ASEAN. The Philippines, under Spanish rule for over 400 years, has a dominant population with Spanish-Chinese ancestry, a natural affinity with competitive advantage for Latin-Americans and Asians to explore and secure South-South opportunities in the 21st Century multi-polar world.

Haresco is PCCI Business Man of the Year Pearl Awardee. He holds a Masteral Degree from McGill University of Canada, Major in International Economics. He writes a regular weekly column on economics and finance in BusinessWorld.

An active leader in the business sector, Haresco has extended scholarship (educational benefits) to deserving children of slain Filipino journalists.
