Nokia sponsors telecoms, electronics summit

Nokia is sponsoring the first Philippine summit on the Information Society, which will be held in the ballroom of the Dusit Hotel. In line with the global celebration of World Telecommunication Day and National Electronics and Telecommunications Week (NETW), the event will be the first of its kind that will bring together the premiere leaders of the ICT and electronics arena to network to discuss the latest national and global issues and trends that affect the industry.
The week-long celebration with the theme: Onward to World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2005, will tackle important current issues concerning convergence regulation, Internal governance, and the future mobile information society and voice over Internet protocol.
The five main organizers of the event are the newly formed Commission on Information Communication Technology (CICT), the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), Philippine Electronics and Telecommunications Federation (PETEF), Information Technology Foundation of the Philippines (ITFP), and the Philippine Chamber of Telecommunications Operators (PCTO).
Nokia, as the world leader on mobile communications, is dedicated in contributing for a more healthy and progressive information communication technology (ICT) environment.
