Optimum Media emerges as major industry player

Optimum Media Philippines (OMP) has bagged a significant share of the media advertising business in the country only six months after starting operations, winning 21 clients to date in sectors including telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, high-end real estate, top-of-the-line motor vehicle trading, premium laundry brands, upscale furniture, and lighting fixtures.
The media billings of Optimum Media have made the company a major player in the local advertising industry.
In December 2003, Optimum Media was appointed the Agency of Record (AOR) of Smart Communications, one of the countrys top five advertisers. The appointment centralizes media planning and buying for the countrys largest wireless company.
OMP is a member of Optimum Media Directions (OMD), globally one of the largest media networks and the media arm of the Omnicom Group. Locally, OMP is affiliated with creative agency DDB Philippines, likewise a member of the Omnicom Group.
Staffed by some of the countrys most able media specialist, OMP is led by its chairman Antonio R. Samson, president & CEO August C. Benitez, EVP & COO Ador A. Perez, VPs Resti Z. Reyes, Miko P. Salud, and Raymund de Vera, and AVP Erwin L. Villegas.
Benitez said the rapid growth of OMP underscores the increasing relevance and benefits of the independent media agency. "Our services dont just consist of placing ads and getting the best rates. By positioning ourselves as the conduit to our clients designated target markets, we have managed to provide them with more meaningful and more creative media solutions. Our media service has increasingly become a very important element in the marketing mix of our clients Benitez said.
