DHL Worldwide Express (DHL) has been awarded the "Best Express Operator" at the prestigious Asian Freight & Supply Chain Awards (AFSCA) held in Hong Kong recently.
DHL is the only company to have won the "Best Express Service" award since the AFSCA was inaugurated in 1987.
"We are immensely proud to once again receive DHLs award at the AFSCA Award ceremony, adding that we are happy that our customers have recognized and appreciated the effort we have done to serve them," John Pearson, DHL commercial director for Asia Pacific, said.
The AFSCA, organized by Cargonews Asia, and now on its 17th year, has become the highlight of the Asian freight industry calendar. Cargonews is the leading freight industry newspaper in the region.
"The key to our continued success is our people. To better serve our customers, we will continue to make investments in staff training, which goes hand in hand without investments in infrastructure in the region," John Mullen, DHL chief operating officer in the Asia Pacific region, said.
DHL has earmarked $350 million for investment in the region, and has invested $100 million in the development and construction of infrastructure in the Asia Pacific region to handle cargo handling and payload capacity. Rey Arquiza
