Laya is new ACPAPP president

Jaime Laya, chair-man of KPMG Laya Mananghaya and Co., was sworn in recently as president of the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice (ACPAPP). In his induction speech, Laya noted the need for accountants to redouble efforts at self-improvement and policing ranks. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Rafael Buenaventura deli-vered the keynote address during the rites held at the Shangri-la Makati.

Among those pre-sent were BSP deputy governor Alberto Re-yes, SEC Commissio-ner Jesus Martinez, Professional Regulations Commission chairman Antonieta Fortuna-Ibe and Board of Accountancy chairman Eugene Mateo.
