STI slates ‘Desert Storm II’ seminar

How will the looming second military showdown between the United States and the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein impact on the financial markets? What are the financial and economic lessons to be learned from the first Gulf War between the two contending sides.

These are but two of the questions that the Success Traders Institute (STI) will try to answer when it holds free to the public a one-hour presentation on "The Prize of War: Desert Storm Revisited."

Performance Foreign Exchange Corp. (PFEC), which is sponsoring the STI activity, said there are only 50 available seats in the presentation scheduled for tomorrow, March 17, starting at 7 p.m. Inquiries and reservations may be made through either Nina or Glenda at tel. nos. 887-0786.

STI has been holding seminars with the theme "Learn, Trade and Profit" to arm investors with knowledge on how to earn in today’s markets.

The seminar will try to draw possible scenarios on how the US-Iraq war will play out, and how the markets might react to developments. "For example, a big question to consider is whether this will be a short or a long war."

During the first Gulf War, well-advised investors were able to benefit big-time despite volatile financial market conditions," explained PFEC market analyst Jonathan Ocampo.

"But just as there were winners, there were also a number of losers who most likely failed to take into account other factors because they were inadequately informed," Ocampo added.

"It’s not as simple as collating all available market data. Investors need the expertise of people that would help them sift through all the information leading to a profitable market position," Ocampo said.

"But ultimately, the investor and not any fund manager should make the decision when and how to invest," he added. "PFEC specializes in giving information from experts and leaving the decision-making to the investor."

The PFEC, a leading information provider on the currency markets, said well-informed investors who are guided by up-to-the-minute market developments, are in the best position to take advantage of similar market opportunities.
