Faster, more secure delivery of packages and cargo to and from any point along Philtrancos nationwide transport network from Pasay to Davao at even lesser cost is what the bus companys Biyaheng Pinoy KARGO, promises individual shippers, freight forwarders and cargo consolidators.
Philtranco president Alejandro R. Yague, Jr. said Philtranco Biyaheng Pinoy KARGO has the decided advantage of offering the fastest, most secure and most affordable rates for the delivery of these goods considering Philtrancos fleet of more than 300 buses plying their daily route along Southern Luzon, Eastern and Central Visayas and Mindanao.
"We are probably the only bus company that visits more than 1,000 cities, municipalities and barangays throughout the country as part of a days work," Yague proudly says. "With such a wide and extensive a network, we believe we can handle cargo delivery the way we have handled passengers in the last 88 years faster, more secure and with even more efficiency," he added.
Philtranco is the countrys pioneering bus company. Founded in Iriga in 1914, it antedates by a few months the American transportation, Greyhound Lines, Inc. The transport companys entry into expanded cargo delivery apart from maintaining its regular passenger and commuter service, is an acknowledgment that people will travel less and less as a result of advances in telecommunications and the rise in e-business transactions.
"We recognize that the new strides in communications technology will lessen the peoples need to travel far distances regularly," Yague asserts. "People now can just text their orders to their Manila supplier and expect these goods to be delivered right at their doorstep. Whoever handles this delivery for them faster and at less cost, gets that part of the business. Biyaheng Pinoy KARGO intends to fill that gap," Yague adds.
Philtrancos expanded cargo system is expected to benefit large manufacturers and freight forwarders who need to regularly ship their merchandise or goods to areas where Philtranco is considered the dominant player.
Philtrancos round the clock transport facility enables its buses to be anywhere in Camarines Sur in seven hours, the Bicol region in eight hours or less; Samar and Leyte anywhere from 18 to 20 hours. At the rate of one bus dispatch every 10 minutes, delivery via Biyaheng Pinoy KARGO is surely on its way in less than a day.
