Cebu Pacific exec is SKAL national president

Patricio Alcaraz, Cebu Pacific (CEB) vp for international marketing and administration, has been elected national president of the tourism organization SKAL International-Philippines. Alcaraz is also incumbent president of SKAL-International Makati.

The other SKAL International officers are: Philippine Airline’s Avelino Zapanta, national vice president and president of SKAL International – Manila; Charles Lim of SELRAHCO Hotels and Resorts, national vice president and president of SKAL International – Cebu; George Misa of Buenavista Travel, national vice president and president of SKAL International – Davao; Demetrio Silverio of Abacus, treasurer; Chit Montenegro, secretary; and Ken Graham, international councilor.

Member of SKAL International – Philippines executive board are: Harry Inoferio of Delta Airline; Jaime Zambrano of Kuwait Airways; Holiday Plaza Hotel’s Rey Fuentes (vice president of SKAL Cebu); and Art Boncato of Marco Polo Davao (vice president of SKAL Davao).

The induction ceremonies, officiated by SKAL International president Anthony Cleg-Butt, were held during the 31st SKAL Asian Area Assembly and the 50th anniversary celebration of SKAL International Manila last May 24 to 26. Over 200 delegates from Asia, Australia and Israel flew in to attend the event, which featured Tourism Secretary Richard Gordon and SKAL International – Asia committee president Pablo Muller as guests of honor.

Founded in 1932, SKAL International was formed to build a worldwide network of travel and tourism professionals. At present, the organization has more than 25,000 members in 500 clubs from over 80 countries.
