Tubig Pilipinas resumes stock trading

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Stock Exchange Inc. (PSE) has lifted the trading suspension on shares of Tubig Pilipinas Holdings Inc., formerly Coal Asia Holdings Inc., after nearly 10 months.
Shares of the listed water infrastructure and utility company will resume today.
The trading of Tubig Pilipinas shares was suspended on Dec. 23, 2025, with its stock closing at P0.028.
The PSE said the company has complied with the requirements under the revised backdoor listing rules and provided updates on the transactions of the company.
According to the exchange, Tubig Pilipinas has submitted a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) letter confirming that the acquisition of Coal Asia shares by Pure Water Corp., Quadwater Corp. and CEF2 AO9 B.V. through a share swap does not require a mandatory tender offer.
The company has likewise submitted its amended registration statement as approved by the SEC.
Formerly Coal Asia Holdings, the new name was adopted following a P6.6-billion backdoor listing, which transferred the operating business and portfolio of Tubig Pilipinas.
The company’s primary purpose is to carry on the general business of operating, managing, maintaining and rehabilitating waterworks, sewerage and sanitation systems and services.
It currently has a roster of 12 operational plants nationwide, five projects in construction, as well as other projects at various stages in the pipeline.
