MANILA, Philippines — ABS-CBN and GMA Network are extending their collaboration with two major entertainment properties, as the Kapamilya network confirmed the return of Vice Ganda’s “Gandang Gabi Vice (GGV)” and the launch of “Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Collab 3.0.”

The announcements were made during ABS-CBN’s recently held annual stockholders’ meeting, where management fielded questions about its continuing partnerships with other media companies.

Vice’s iconic late-night talk show, “Gandang Gabi Vice,” is officially making its much-awaited comeback to television as well as streaming platforms after six years.

ABS-CBN chief operating officer (COO) Cory Vidanes confirmed the development, revealing that the show will start airing this September on iWant, Kapamilya Channel and, for the first time, GMA.

“Yes, ‘Gandang Gabi Vice,’ the new season, will come back next month on GMA, iWant and Kapamilya Channel,” Vidanes said during the stockholders’ meeting.

“Gandang Gabi Vice” last aired in March 2020, amid the pandemic lockdown, marking the end of its successful nine-year run.

ABS-CBN is set to launch in October the ‘Pinoy Big Brother Collab 3.0,’ the newest edition of the long-running reality franchise, in partnership anew with the Kapuso network.

Its return via GMA further expands the partnership between the two networks, which in recent years has seen the former rivals working together on several programs and projects.

The annoucement comes after Vice inked two major contracts this month. The comedian-host recently reaffirmed his ties with ABS-CBN while also entering a two-year content venture with Manny V. Pangilinan’s MediaQuest Holdings.

More details about the show’s official return, including its premiere date and upcoming guests, are expected to be announced soon.

Meanwhile, Vidanes also revealed that “Pinoy Big Brother Collab 3.0,” the newest edition of the long-running reality franchise, will launch in October, again in partnership with GMA.

“We are launching ‘Pinoy Big Brother Collab 3.0’ in October in partnership with GMA,” she said.

Vidanes also confirmed that “PBB” will move to a new house following the closure of its original home after 21 years.

“Yes, we are moving to a new ‘PBB’ house that will be more cost efficient for us,” she said.

No further details were given about the location of the new “PBB” house.

The latest updates add to the list of collaborations between ABS-CBN and GMA, including the co-production of the primetime series “Unbreak My Heart” and the airing of “It’s Showtime” on GMA and GTV.

Asked during the same stockholders’ meeting whether ABS-CBN was studying separate joint venture companies with GMA Network and/or MediaQuest Ventures instead of continuing with case-by-case collaborations, ABS-CBN chief partnerships officer Roberto Barreiro did not confirm any specific plan.

“As a content company, ABS-CBN will continue to explore opportunities to create more content and serve its various publics as best as it can. We are therefore open to working with other media entities under terms that are beneficial to our company,” Barreiro said.
