Australian health care provider eyes BPO operations in Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — Australian health care provider Kairos Care or Kairos Medical Group is looking to set up information technology-business process outsourcing (IT-BPO) operations in the Philippines.
In a statement, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) said that its director general Tereso Panga met with Kairos’ officials on Aug. 13, to discuss the firm’s plans.
Kairos Care and Kairos Medical Group specialize in general practice, mental health, disability support and aged care services.
During the meeting, Kairos’ delegation expressed interest in establishing export-oriented administrative and back-office operations in the country to serve Australian and other global markets.
Kairos also plans to partner with Philippine universities for internships and talent recruitment to support its operations.
Eventually, Kairos wants to expand Philippine operations through outsourced services to other health care organizations.
It is also interested in partnering with Philippine resorts for mental health and disability care programs.
During the meeting, Panga discussed the advantages of setting up IT-BPO operations in the Philippines.
He cited the incentives being offered by the government under the CREATE MORE Act.
He also highlighted the PEZA’s ecozone ecosystem, and the steady performance of Australian and IT-BPO companies registered with the agency.
