ICC pinagbigyan prosecutors na ma-access mga gamit ni Duterte

MANILA, Philippines — Pinagbigyan ng International Criminal Court (ICC) ang kahilingan ng prosekusyon na mabigyan ng access sa mga materyales na nasa pangangalaga ng Registry kaugnay sa kaso ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

“The Chamber therefore finds that there are ­reasonable grounds to believe that the examination of these materials would produce evidence that is necessary for the investigation,” nakasaad sa desisyon ng ICC.

Subalit ibinasura naman ng ICC ang kahilingan ng prosecutors na mabigyan ng access sa mga susi na nakuha ng Registy nang arestuhin at ilipat si Duterte sa kustodiya ng hukuman.

“Turning to the Keys, the Chamber notes that the Prosecution merely submits that the Keys ‘[REDACTED]’, and does not specify to what items the Keys relate to, nor how such items may provide evidence that are necessary for the investigation,” ayon sa ICC.

Isinaalang-alang ng ICC ang argumento ng depensa na ang mga susi na kinuha kay Duterte habang dinadala sa The Hague ay posibleng magbigay ng access sa mga ari-arian o impormasyong pagmamay-ari o may kinalaman sa kanyang mga kaanak na paglabag sa karapatang pantao.
