Malakas na ulan, bagyo sa 1st quarter ng 2025 asahan
MANILA, Philippines — Asahan ang malakas na pag-ulan at bagyo sa unang tatlong buwan ng taong 2025.
Ayon kay PAGASA Administrator Nathaniel Servando, ito ay dahil sa presensya ng La Niña sa tropical pacific.
“Periods of cooler-than-average sea surface temperatures (SSTs) in the equatorial Pacific Ocean that started in September 2024 continue to persist and further strengthened reaching the La Niña conditions threshold in December 2024,” pahayag ni Servando.
Ayon kay Servando, magpapatuloy ang La Niña mula Enero hanggang Marso.
“With this development, higher chances of above-normal rainfall in the January – February - March 2025 season are expected, which may cause floods, flashfloods, and rain-induced landslides. Furthermore, an increased chance of tropical cyclone activity within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) during the period is likely,” pahayag ni Servando.
Tiniyak naman ni Servando na patuloy na magbabantay ang Pagasa.
