MANILA, Philippines — Dahilan sa matinding pagbaha sa Metro Manila at iba pang bahagi ng bansa dulot ng supertyphoon Carina at habagat, itinaas ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang calamity fund sa 51% o kabuuang P31 bilyon.

“In the 2025 national budget, Malacañang is seeking the sum of P31 billion in new appropriations for the Cala­mity Fund, or 51 percent higher than this year’s allocation of P20.5 billion,” ayon kay Makati City Rep.. Luis Campos Jr., vice chairperson ng House Committee on Appropriations.

Ayon sa solon, sa P31 bilyong calamity fund nasa P14.7 bilyon ang para sa pagtatayo ng mga napinsalang permanenteng istraktura tulad ng mga kalsada, tulay at maging ng mga gusali ng eskuwelahan.

Samantala, P 7.7 bilyon naman ang para sa Quick Response Fund (QRF) at frontline departments ng gobyerno, ayon pa kay Campos, mister ni Makati City Mayor Abby Binay.
