AFP iniimbestigahan na pagdagsa ng Chinese students sa Cagayan

MANILA, Philippines — Iniimbestigahan na ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang pagdagsa ng libong mga estudyanteng Chinese sa mga kolehiyo at unibersidad sa Cagayan.

“The AFP takes the report seriously so we are looking into this,” pahayag ni AFP Spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla.

“The investigation will be on their (PNP) end. If there will be AFP requirements from their end, then we will be extending our assistance accordingly,” ani Padilla.

Hinihinalang nag-eespiya ang nasabing mga Chinese sa EDCA (Enhanced Cooperation Agreement) sites sa Cagayan na kinabibilangan ng Lal-lo Airport at Naval Base Camilo Osias sa Sta. Ana ng lalawigan.

Sa nasabing mga EDCA sites humihimpil ang mga sundalong Amerikano para sa pagsasanay, transit, support at iba pang mga aktibidad kabilang ang pag-refuel ng mga aircraft, communications, paglalagay ng mga kagamitan, supplies, materyales, pagde-deploy ng US forces at iba pa.

“We have to look at it if there is a security component for this. That’s where the AFP comes in,” saad naman ni Philippine Navy Commodore Roy Vincent Trinidad, Spokesman ng AFP sa West PH Sea.

“So far none. But like what the AFP spokeswoman mentioned, the efforts are continuing to protect the AFP and the country”, tugon ni Trinidad sa posibilidad na nage-espiya ang nasabing mga Chinese sa EDCA site.
