"We collected over 800,000 property listings for global capital's from realtor sites, then calculated the median home price for 73 major cities, using official government exchange rates," sabi ng NetCredit.

"We then gathered the average monthly net salary from numbeo.com and calculated affordability to ascertain the number of years worked to earn a median home value."

  • Tehran, Iran: 158.4 taon
  • Havana, Cuba: 91.4 taon
  • Monaco, Monaco: 71.9 taon
  • Islamabad, Pakistan: 47.8 taon
  • Cairo, Egypt: 46.4 taon
  • Hanoi, Vietnam: 45.4 taon
  • Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic: 42.4 taon
  • Manila, Philippines: 42.2 taon
  • Phnom Penh, Cambodia: 41 taon
  • Beijing, China: 37.6 taon

"Saving up for 4.7 years in South Africa will get you a home in Pretoria at the country's average price, making it the most affordable capital in the world," sabi pa ng NetCredit.

"Despite high average costs [of houses] in Washington D.C. [in the United Sates of America], residents can afford the median home price in 9.6 years. Meanwhile, Tehran is the world's least affordable city — with the average property costing 158.4 years of earnings to own."
