Gov't workers dismayado sa 'one-time rice assistance'; 10k gratuity pay itinulak
MANILA, Philippines — Dissappointed ang ilang manggagawa ng gobyerno sa "one-time" rice assistance ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., ito habang iginigiit na ang karapatan nila sa P10,000 gratuity pay.
Kamakailan lang kasi nang aprubahan ni Bongbong ang Administrative Order 2, na siyang magbibigay ng rice allowance sa lahat ng empleyado ng gobyerno para sa taong ito — pero isang beses lang.
Bukod pa ito sa service recognition incentive (SRI) sa mga empleyado sa executive department.
"We accept the said rice assistance, but will still appeal for the 'rightful' 10,000 Php Gratuity we have asked of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) through a letter sent on December 16, 2022," wika ng job order at contract-of-service (JOCOS) employees sa ilalim ng Kawani Laban sa Kontraktwalisasyon (KALAKON), Miyerkules.
"KALAKON believes that the JOCOS workers' plight for the 10k gratuity pay is 'right and just'. The pay serves as a partial compensation of the significant contribution of JOCOS employees in government service and an alleviation of the dire and unsecured position of these workers amid the continuing economic crisis and holiday price hikes."
Ayon sa Kalakon, iva-value lang daw kasi ito sa P1,250 kung P50/kilo ang presyo ng bigas, bagay na malayong-malayo sa una nang hinihinging P10,000 gratuity pay.
Kasama sa mga tatanggap ng mga insentibo mula sa AO 2 ang mga tauhan ng:
- sibilyang tauhan ng national government authorities
- nasa state universities and colleges
- government-owned or controlled corporations
- government financial institutions
- government instrumentalities na may corporate powers
- government corporate entities na may regular, contractual o casual positions
- tauhan ng militar, pulis, bumbero at kulungan
Sa ilalim ng naturang AO, makatatanggap din ng hindi lalagpas sa P20,000 service recognition incentive (SRI) ang mga empleyado ng executive department.
"We express grave concern of President Marcos Jr.'s Administration's apparent indifference to the precarity of JOCOS workers in the government," dagdag pa ng Kalakon.
"The current [a]dministration still has to properly respond to the lack of tenure and social security experienced by more than 600,000 of its workforce."
Nitong Nobyembre lang nang samahan ng Kalakon ang Confederation for Unity, Recognition and Advancement of Government Employees (COURAGE) para itulak ang pagpapatupad ng P33,000 minimum wage para sa mga kawani ng gobyerno sa gitna ng nagtataasang inflation rate.
Ngayong buwan lang nang iulat na umabot na sa 8% ang inflation rate sa Pilipinas, ang pinakamabilis na pagtaas ng presyo ng bilihin sa loob ng 14 taon.
