Pagdinig ng Senado sa trapik inisnab

MANILA, Philippines – Hindi sinipot kahapon ng mga matataas na opis­yal ng iba’t-ibang ahensiya ng gobyerno ang pagdinig ng Senate Committees on Economic Affairs at Public Works tungkol sa epekto ng matinding problema ng trapiko sa Metro Manila.

Hindi ikinatuwa ni Senator JV Ejercito, chairman ng Economic Affairs Committee ng Senado,  ang hindi pagsipot nina Department of Transportation and Communication Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya; Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson; Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Francis Tolentino; Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan; Interior Secretary Mar Roxas; Land Transportation Office Chairman Aljun Tan; at maging si Transportation Czar Jose Rene Almendras.

Bagaman at nauna nang nagpasabi na hindi makakarating at sa halip ay nagpadala na lamang ng mga kinatawan, nagbanta pa rin si Ejercito na ipapa-contempt ang mga pinuno ng ahensiya kung hindi sisipot sa mga susunod na pagdinig.

Ipinaliwanag naman ni MMDA undersecretary Corazon Jimenez na kasama ni Almendras si Tolentino at Chief Superintendent Arnold Gunnacao, director ng Highway Patrol Group (HPG), upang i-assess ang trapik sa EDSA.

Nauna ng nagparating si Almendras kay Senator Bam Aquino ng paumanhin dahil sa hindi pagsipot sa hearing. Pero iginiit pa rin ni Ejercito na dapat dumating ang mga pinuno ng ahensiya sa susunod na pagdinig upang hindi maipa-contempt.
