Taas pasahe sa LRT, MRT ok kay PNoy

MANILA, Philippines - Ipinagtanggol ni Pa­ngulong Aquino ang napipintong pagtataas sa pasahe sa Light Railways Transit (LRT) at Metro Rail Transit ((MRT).

Sinabi ng Pangulo sa panayam dito ni Boy Abunda ng ABS-CBN, unfair daw na patuloy ang subsidy ng gobyerno gayung hindi naman lahat ng Filipino ay gumagamit ng nasabing mass transit system.

Aniya, ang subsidy ng gobyerno sa pasahe sa LRT at MRT ay puwedeng magamit sa ibang programa ng gobyerno tulad ng pagtatayo ng mass transport sa ibang lugar.

“Isn’t it fair that you pay a little bit more, you bring it at least to the level of the airconditioned bus - which provides to our mind a lesser service - and then you lessen the burden of others who are not able to avail themselves of this service?” ayon sa Pangulo.

Plano ng gobyerno na itaas ang pasahe sa LRT at MRT na halos parehas sa pasahe ng air-con buses.

Sa kasalukuyan, pina­pasan ng gobyerno ang P20.46 ng P34.74 pamasahe sa LRT 1 at 2 habang P41.46 naman sa P53.96 pasahe sa MRT 3.

“We think the LRT and MRT system provides a better service than a bus so when you get a better service, normally you pay more. But here we have a situation where you pay less for the better service,” dagdag pa nito.
