211 binigyan ng gun ban exemption

MANILA, Philippines - Nasa 211 aplikasyon para sa gun ban exemption ang inaprubahan ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) kaugnay ng halalang pambarangay sa Oktubre 28.

Ayon kay Comelec Commissioner Grace Padaca, sa 348 bagong aplikasyon at renewal ay nasa 211 ang nabigyan nila ng gun ban exemptions.

Ang 133 aplikasyon ay ine-evaluate pa nila habang apat ang hindi naman itinuloy.

Anang poll official, karamihan sa mga nag-a-apply ng renewal ay security agencies at mga law enforcement agencies at security details.

Kasama rin sa exempted sa gun ban ang Internal Security mula sa mga tanggapan ng Vice President; Secretary of Interior and Local Government at National Defense; State, Regional, Provincial, at City Prosecutors ng Department of Justice; Internal Security Division ng Bureau of Treasury; mga agents ng Bureau of Corrections; miyembro ng PNP at AFP; NBI; BJMP; Intelligence, Investigation and Customs Police Divisions of the Bureau of Customs; Philippine Ports Authority; Philippine Economic Zone Autho­rity police forces; Government Guard Forces; Investigation, at Intelligence Divisions ng Bureau of Immigration; Manila International Airport Authority Police Force; Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority Police Force; at Land Transportation Office Law Enforcement Service.

Ang mga lalabag sa gun ban ay maaaring mabilanggo ng mula isa hanggang anim na taon, permanenteng madis­kwalipika sa paghawak ng public office at pagbawi sa karapatang makaboto.

Ang gun ban ay nagsimula noong September 28 at magtatapos sa Nobyembre 12.
