MANILA, Philippines - Maging si Senator Loren Legarda, Chairperson ng Senate Committee on Foreign Relations ay nakiisa sa panawagan ng Philippine Permanent Representative to the UN Office sa Geneva para sa mga bansa na ratipikahin ang international instruments na magbibigay ng proteksiyon sa mga vulnerable sectors, tulad ng UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime at ang International Labor Organization’s (ILO’s) Convention 189 on domestic workers.

Ayon kay Sen. Lagarda, kasabay nang pagdiriwang ng Philippine ratification ng ILO 189 at panukalang Expanded Anti-Trafficking Act, dapat na hikayatin ang iba pang bansa na gumawa ng hakbang hinggil sa mga naturang isyu dahil maraming babae at mga kabataan ang naaapektuhan nito.
