MANILA, Philippines - Duda si Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr. kung matatalakay at maipapasa pa nila ang mga pending bills sa Senado.
Sinabi ni Sen. Pimentel, ang plano na ipasa ang 10 non-controversial bills ay malabo at taliwas ito sa pahayag ni Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile na walang pending bills ang kanilang tatalakayin matapos mag-sesyon ang Senado para mag-convene ang Kamara at Senado bilang National Board of Canvassers para sa presidente at bise-presidente ng nakaraang May 10 elections.
Ayon kay Pimentel, nakasaad sa inihandang agenda ni Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri ang planong pagpasa sa 10 non-controversial bills, 5 senate proposals at 5 house proposals.
Wika pa ni Pimentel, baka kaya isinama ni Zubiri ang pagpasa sa 5 pending house bills ay dahil pinakiusapan siya.
“The problem is the moment you accede to any request for the approval of certain bills or resolutions, even if they are non-controversial, this could trigger similar requests from other lawmakers for the approval of other measures. But we may not have the time to act on pending bills since we are pressed for time to canvass the votes and proclaim the new president and vice president before June 30,” wika pa ng senate minority leader.
