MANILA, Philippines — When it comes to their hard-earned money, many Filipinos still value face-to-face interactions at the bank with someone they can trust.

With the growing adoption to digital tools, tech capabilities have been built into BDO branches to make your visits easy and simple.

In recent months, upgrades have been rolled out by BDO across its nationwide branch network, reimagining the customer experience from the moment you decide to visit the branch.

A faster way to line up and get things done

Meet SAM—the Service Assist Machine. If you’ve stepped inside a BDO branch lately, you’ve probably seen it (or the Alden Richards standee beside it).

This self-service kiosk lets you input transaction details digitally instead of filling out forms by hand. You can use it for things like check deposits, withdrawals, bills payment, or even to queue for account opening and financial advice.

Another bonus? It’s paperless—better for both speed and sustainability.

If you’d rather skip the line altogether, schedule a visit online through the BDO Online app or website. Pick a time that works for you, enter your transaction details ahead and you’ll get a QR code for faster queuing at the branch.

Self-service, but smarter

Universal Teller Machine or UTM is another game-changer. More than just an upgraded ATM, this machine allows you to not only withdraw but also deposit cash and checks, pay bills and update your passbook—all without needing to go to a teller.

What’s more, you can do cardless transactions via QR code or biometrics. No card? No problem.

A smoother start to opening an account

Opening an account or applying for a loan? There’s now a faster way to do that, too. At select branches, the Account Assist Kiosk allows new and existing customers to input their information digitally.

Existing clients can authenticate using their BDO debit card or biometrics, and the system will auto-fill their details—making the process quicker and easier.

BDO currently offers over a dozen savings and deposit products and more than 30 types of loans and credit cards, many of which can be explored through these kiosks.

Real advice, right when you need it

Need to speak to someone about a loan or investment? BDO has BDO Connect—a service that connects customers to product specialists via video call, right from the branch.

Whether you’re asking about a home loan, insurance, or investment options, you can get expert advice in private, without waiting or being passed from counter to counter.

You can also easily and quickly apply for a credit card through BDO Connect.

This service is already live in several branches nationwide.

One app to tie it all together

And for those who prefer to bank on the go, BDO Pay offers a way to manage transactions straight from your phone. From paying bills and shopping to generating QR codes for ATM withdrawals, the app complements what’s happening at the branches.

“We’re always finding ways to make our clients’ banking experience easier, simpler and more secure. Their preferences drive us in using technology to enhance the way we offer our products and deliver our services. Our new in-branch innovations are designed to give customers more options, so they can bank in the way that suits them best," Cora Mallillin, executive vice president and head of BDO’s Branch Banking Group, shared.
