J-pop boy group Be:First showcases dance prowess musical range in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — J-pop boy group Be:First impressed fans with their dancing prowess and musical influences during their “Watch Me” world showcase at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City on Saturday.
Be:First started the showcase with a bang through the song WATCH ME, which features American rapper BIA.
The group took fans on a journey through their discography as they went on to sing Boom Boom Back from “2” in 2024.
They went on to sing GRIT from “BE” in 2025, followed by CAGLIOSTRO from their latest extended play, “Watch Me,” released this year.
It was a familiar sound for fans as they sang Don’t Wake Me Up, which features Jonas Blue.
Things became more relaxed as the group sang Missing, followed by PAPER SCARS, Secret Garden and Grow Up.
“Thank you guys for coming today. It was such a wonderful time. It was so amazing. This place is so beautiful,” Ryuhei said.
Be:First showed how to groove with Sapphire, SOS and Stare In Wonder, showcasing their dancing prowess.
Things took a heavier turn when they performed Rondo, Masterplan, Mainstream and DEAD EYES EVERYWHERE, which features ATL Jacob.
But they went in a different direction and showed their cheerful side with Sailing, Muchuu and Blissful.
As they prepared to conclude their showcase, Be:First thanked their fans for their support and expressed how pumped up they are to create new music.
“We hope to come back here again on a bigger stage. I will keep on making great songs for you guys. You guys give me life,” Ryuhei said.
“You give me new ideas so I can make more great songs. We will be back again. Thank you for coming again today,” he added.
It was a perfect way to start their farewell set as they sang Bye-Good-Bye.
The song was followed by I Want You Back, sampling the hit song of the same name from The Jackson 5.
Be concluded the showcase with BRUCE WAYNE and BE ALL DAY, impressing Filipino fans with their diverse musical influences in J-pop.
Besides Ryuhei, other members of the group are Sota, Shunto, Manato, Junon and Leo.
Presented by Live Nation Philippines, their showcase was in support of their newly-released EP, “Watch Me.”
Member Sota told The Philippine STAR in a past interview: “When it comes to music, performance and dance, we want to be the real deal. We want to show that we are the real deal in this genre.
“Visually, we want to look cool while doing it and really give value to everything that we do. So, that’s where we are now when it comes to what J-pop is for us.”
Be:First previously collaborated with SB19 on Toyfriend, a track included in the latter’s “Wakas at Simula” album. They also performed at SB19’s “Wakas at Simula” concert at the SMDC Festival Grounds last April.
