MANILA, Philippines —  Over half a kilo of shabu with a street value of P3.43 million was intercepted from a man during an interdiction operation at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s Central Mail Exchange Center in Pasay on Tuesday.

The illegal drugs stashed in parcels were seized after a 29-year-old resident of Antipolo City claimed the items, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The PDEA said the suspect was collared after he received the parcels declared as Children Memory Toy and Mystery Gift Pac, which contained 505 grams of shabu.

The parcels originated from Canada.

The suspect is facing cases under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

The contraband was turned over to the PDEA for forensic examination.
