MANILA, Philippines — The operation of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) was uninterrupted yesterday despite increased crowd and tight security.

Security personnel of the MRT-3 and the Philippine Coast Guard were deployed at the Ortigas station to assist passengers and maintain order.

Authorities tightened security at an events venue near the MRT-3 Ortigas station due to a supposed Blue Ribbon committee hearing set by some members of the Senate, which was initially canceled, but later pushed through.

“Train services continue to operate as scheduled and station operations remain unaffected,” the MRT-3 management said in a statement.
