Palace declares special non-working days in 8 areas

MANILA, Philippines — Special non-working days have been declared by President Marcos in various parts of the country to allow residents to mark their founding anniversaries and local festivities next month.

In Proclamations 757, 758 and 759, Marcos declared Jan. 8, 10 and 11, respectively, as special non-working days in 2025 in Calubian, Leyte; Koronadal City, South Cotabato; and Rosales, Pangasinan.

Calubian and Rosales will commemorate their foundation day, while Koronadal will mark its 85th founding anniversary and hold the Koronadal Hinugyaw Festival.

The Palace also declared Jan. 16 as a special non-working day in Batangas City and in Navotas through Proclamations 760 and 761, respectively.

Batangas City will mark the Tourism and Cultural Day and the celebration of its city fiesta, while Navotas will commemorate its 119th founding anniversary on Jan. 16.

Proclamations 762 and 763, meanwhile, were issued declaring Jan. 21 and Jan. 27 as special non-working days in Currimao, Ilocos Norte and Tantangan, South Cotabato, respectively.

The people of Currimao will be celebrating their town’s founding anniversary, while the residents of Tantangan will be observing the 64th founding anniversary of their municipality and the 15th Kulitangtang Festival.

Malacañang also issued Proclamation 764, declaring Jan. 6 as a special non-working day in Oroquieta City in Misamis Occidental for the celebration of its 55th Charter anniversary and its 95th anniversary as the province’s capital.

The proclamations were signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin by the authority of the President on Dec. 16.
