Habagat to bring rains after 'Inday' exits PAR

MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon will continue to bring rains over parts of the country even after Tropical Storm Bavi, locally named Inday while inside the Philippine area of responsibility, left the country's monitoring area, PAGASA said Sunday, July 12.
Inday exited PAR at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 11, as it moved toward mainland China, weather specialist Obet Badrina said.
PAGASA was also monitoring a low-pressure area spotted 2,005 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas.
The state weather bureau said the LPA had a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone as of 8 a.m. Sunday.
Habagat rains. Zambales, Bataan and Occidental Mindoro may expect occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon, locally called "habagat."
Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon and the Visayas may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms also due to the monsoon.
PAGASA warned residents in areas affected by the habagat of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Mindanao, meanwhile, may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
