Tolentino, Loyzaga magkakasubukan

MANILA, Philippines — Magtutuos sina incumbent POC president Bambol Tolentino at dating Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) commissioner Chito Loyzaga sa botohan para sa pagkapangulo ng POC sa susunod na apat na taon.

Gaganapin ngayong umaga ang POC elections sa East Ocean Seafood Restaurant kung saan mainit ang labanan sa pagitan nina Tolentino at Loyzaga.

Inaasahang magiging gitgitan ang laban dahil may kani-kanyang grupo sina Tolentino at Loyzaga.

Kasama ni Tolentino sa grupo sina Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas chief Al Panlilio para sa first vice president gayundin sina Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines chairman Ricky Vargas, Rep. Richard Gomez at treasurer Dr. Jose Raul Canlas.

Pasok naman bilang board member candidates sina Lenlen Escollante,, Paolo Tancontian, Joebert Yu, Ting Ledesma, Epok Quimpo,  Geourgina Avercilla, Karen Tanchiangco, Nikki Cheng, Ramon “Tats” Suzara, Ricky Lim, Mico Vargas, Mariano Araneta, Chan, Jarryd Bello at Bones Floro.

Nasa grupo rin sina Don Caringal, Alvin Aguilar, Ferdie Agustin Alexander Sulit at Leah Gonzales .

Maganda ang patakbo ni Tolentino sa nakalipas na apat na taon kung saan napasakamay ng Pilipinas ang kauna-unahang gintong medalya sa Olympic Games.

Matatandaang nasikwat ni Hidilyn Diaz ang ginto sa weightlifting competition noong 2020 Olympics sa Tokyo, Japan.

Sinundan ito ng impresibong double-gold output ni gymnast Carlos Edriel Yulo na naghari sa men’s floor exercise at men’s vault sa 2024 Paris Olympics.

Sa kabilang banda, nasa grupo ni Loyzaga sina Ro-bert Bachmann ng squash bilang second VP, Rod Roque ng weightlifting bilang auditor at sina archery’s Peter Miguel, netball’s Charlie Ho, Kurash’s Rommel Miranda, gymnastics’ Derek Ramsay at equestrian’s Steven Virata bilang board members.
