Malacañang has chosen Jay-R to fill in the vacancy left by his father Nepnep, a councilor and three-term vice mayor, who died while in office.
Jay-R and Liberal Party’s choice, Evangeline Cotiangco, were the two nominees for the post submitted to President Benigno Aquino III last year.
Vice Mayor Toto Locsin Jr. said he was glad to know that the president has finally appointed a councilor to fill up the vacant position. “We have to respect the president’s decision,” he told The Freeman. —(FREEMAN)
