Brothers stab, behead drinking buddy

CEBU, Philippines - Two brothers are now hunted by the police for allegedly stabbing and beheading their drinking companion Saturday evening at Barangay Mohon in the capital town of San Jose de Buenavista in Antique.

Senior Supt. Celestino Guara, Antique Police chief, identified the suspects as Roberto Imon and brother, alias Imbo Imon, both residents of Project 3 in Brgy. Mohon.

The victim, 21-year-old Julius Mistas of San Remigio in Antique, was having a drinking session with the two in front of a store whose owner said there was no verbal argument among the three while they were drinking.

The store owner said Mistas first left the scene to answer a phone call. When he returned, the suspects stabbed him with a bolo before cutting his head off. The assailants immediately fled from the scene.

The severed head of Mistas was found about six meters from his body. Guara hinted old grudge as the possible motive of the incident.  (FREEMAN)
