CEBU, Philippines - Police operatives have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in various carnapping incidents in Guihulngan City and other nearby areas in northern Negros Oriental.
Police also confiscated two grenades, one from each suspect, and recovered the stolen motorcycle following their arrest.
The suspects were identified as Ariel de Asis Ramas, 18, from Brgy. Planas of Guihulngan City and Wilmer de Asis Abarquez, 25, from Brgy. Malaiba of Canlaon City, Negros Oriental.
They were arrested around 9:30 a.m. Sunday along the national highway in Brgy. Hilaitan of Guihulngan following a report they allegedly stole a motorcycle of a certain Rolly Bangcaya de Aguas, at the city public market earlier.
Police say the two suspects were "noted personalities" for their alleged involvement in carnapping incidents in Guihulngan City, Canlaon City and La Libertad town.
The two are now detained at the Guihulngan City Police Station as carnapping and illegal possession of explosives charges will be filed against them. (FREEMAN)
