"PARES-PARES." Taxi drivers awaiting passengers in shopping malls have invented a kind of parlor game they call "pares-pares" or pairings. This we learned from our Ear informer who drives a taxi.
"ISTAMBAYS." With nothing to do while waiting for passengers or bosses, the cabbies busy themselves pairing this candidate with that candidate for the presidential race. They call this "pares-pares." And even the "istambays" have fun participating.
EXAMPLES. Some examples of this pares-pares game are: Mar Roxas with Digong Duterte, Mar with Grace Poe, Grace with Chiz Escudero, Mar with Alan Cayetano, Mar with Lani Robredo, Mar with Leila de Lima, this pairing was even heard: "Mar Roxas with Kim Henares. Shoppers waiting for personal cars are having fun and are even making their own pares-pares, our Ear informer said.
