Did you know that there is a specialty in medical practice known as PAIN MEDICINE? The Association of Southeast Asian Pain Societies will hold its pain congress in Manila on March 15-17, 2015.

The pain specialists say that every person has the right to feel no pain. Yes, even if some wise guys say "no pain, no gain."

This is what our leaders should know. Being free from pain is everyone's right. No one should suffer from pain unnecessarily including the pain caused by corrupt practices.

Many Pinoys are suffering from pain arising from hunger. I'm tempted to say, but I won't for fear of painful reaction, that there is more pain in the Philippines caused by tragedies and leadership wrongdoings.

I read in the papers that the heirs of the Fallen 44 SAF commandos are well attended to and that there is a "pouring of blessings" for the bereaved widows and children. Blessings, the news says, are in the form of housing, education, monetary assistance, employment, etc.

If this report in the papers is true, is this the justice everyone is seeking for the 44 heroes of Mamasapano?

OVERHEARD. The government is extending different forms of assistance to the heirs of the Fallen 44 SAF commandos. One guest in a wedding party in a shopping mall asked: "Kadtong mga nabiyuda nga asawa ug mga anak sa mga sundawong nakig-away sa Abu Sayyaf dili unta hikalimtan abi kay nagpakahilom lang."
