The movie "Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo" was judged best film in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). I am happy the film was rated best picture. Anything "best" about Bonifacio I rise to make two thumbs up.

I like to believe that moviegoers flocked to "Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo" to see the heroism of Bonifacio and how, not why, he lost and got sentenced to death by Aguinaldo's kangaro court.

A dog lover friend of mine called yesterday morning (Dec. 29/14) to inquire if I have pet animals especially dogs. He said his pet lovers club has launched a campaign to protect pet animals from "serious fright" during the blasting of firecrackers on New Year's Eve. He gave me tips on what to do if my pets get "seriously scared." I forgot to ask for his name but he said we were friends from way back. But I was able to say thanks.
