I just read this news about four QC cops being in hot water for extortion. And this was followed by a TV report that another two cops also facing extort raps. Many extortionists have already been ousted but many are also taking over. Oh, well, money - or lack of it -- is the root of you know what.

An Agence France Presse (AFP) news dispatch from the Vatican City reports that many watchers are saying that the “winning ticket†would be a Pope with strong pastoral skills -- such as the popular Luis Antonio Tagle from the Philippines and South African Wilfrid Napier.

I used to believe that Cardinal Tagle being a neophyte was popular only in the Philippines. He's that popular too in the Vatican or so says the AFP. And there are more than a hundred of them for the watchers to focus their sights on.

There was a time when only a few would care to watch a volleyball game. Not anymore. There's a surge in the popularity of this sport, at least in Manila, if the recent culmination of the UAAP volleyball Final Four was any indication. The games between La Salle and Ateneo drew close to 20,000 fans in every game. I have yet to see a volleyball game here attended by 2,000 fans.

Daku baya ko'g allowance pero di gani ko kapalit bag-ong sapatos.†Replied Boy No. 2: “Bitaw, Bai, kaas kaayo sa kuwarta ning duna tay uyab. Nagbuwag na mi sa akong GF, Bai, kay nasuko dili branded nga bag ang giregalo ko sa iyang birthday.â€
