CEBU, Philippines – Anti-illegal drug operatives arrested a man allegedly involved in selling drugs in Sitio Saac, Barangay Buaya, Lapu-Lapu City last Saturday evening.
Billy Nadado, 45, who lives in the area, was caught in a buy-bust operation conducted by Pusok Police Station around 10:25 p.m., said Senior Police Officer 4 Jose Ruel Nalzaro.
"Noted na siya nga na-involve sa drug selling didto, og nadakpan na namo siya (Nadado) didto sa usa ka shanty. Mura siya'g gamay nga suyupanan didto," Nalzaro told The FREEMAN.
Police seized nine small sachets and a medium pack of suspected shabu from Nadado with estimated street value of P6,000. This after he negotiated with the police poseur buyer.
"Nakadawat mi og complaint from the concerned citizens. Around three weeks namo siya gipanid-an ug gi-action-nan dayon namo ang (pag-dakop ni Nadado)," Nalzaro added.
Drug paraphernalia and alleged proceeds amounting to P300 were confiscated from the suspect. The buy-bust money amounting to P200 was also recovered by the police.
Nadado is currently detained at the Pusok Police Station and is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Last week, two drug suspects were also arrested in different locations in the city in one day.
Jed Avila, 31, resident of Sitio Sacred Heart Village in Barangay Gun-ob, was reportedly caught carrying seven medium packs of shabu, a .38 caliber revolver with live ammunition rounds.
Jose Waminal, 39, a habal-habal driver living in Sitio Ka-Isko, Barangay Mactan, was also arrested for allegedly bringing 12 small sachets and one medium pack of suspected shabu.
More than P300,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized Avila and Waminal during those two operations, which happened on Thursday.
Both are also now facing charges in connections with RA 9165 while an illegal possession of firearms case was separately filed against Avila. (FREEMAN)
