CEBU, Philippines – A 23-year-old man lost his belongings while attending to his girlfriend who was confined at Talisay City District Hospital, Sunday dawn in Barangay San Isidro.
Jaypee Talido, 23, single, resident of Sitio Kimba, Barangay Cansojong of said city, told reporters that he was looking after his girlfriend who was suffering from dengue when the robbery happened.
He said he placed his power bank and his wallet in his bag just beside him. But he suddenly fell asleep.
When a nurse who wanted his help woke him up, he noticed that his valuables were already gone. He failed to locate it despite his efforts to do so.
Talido's girlfriend was housed at the hallway of the hospital because the rooms were all occupied.
"Lisud pud kaayo nga mamasangil ta pero naa ra gyud to sa mga tawo nga naa sa hospital," Talido said.
Security guard Jake Manondo said the establishment has no CCTV camera that would help them identify persons who did the crime.
"Ang mga tawo magsud ug gawas ra gyud sa hospital," Manondo said.
Meanwhile, a 45-year-old taxi driver was also robbed by two unidentified suspects in Barangay Tanke, same city yesterday dawn.
The victim, Christopher Alocay, single, resident of Barangay Tunghaan, Minglanilla town, reported the incident to the authorities.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim was looking for passengers when two male individuals hired him and asked him to take them to Tanke.
However, in the middle of the road, one of the suspects pulled out an unknown caliber of firearm and declared the holdup.
Alocay, due to fear, handed his P2,300 cash to the suspects. The perpetrators then fled.
Police are still conducting follow-up operation to identify the suspects as they advised the public to be vigilant even inside the hospital, any offices or even inside cars. (FREEMAN)
