Danao workers receive Capitol's incentives

CEBU, Philippines - Danao City’s barangay tanods, nutrition scholars, animal health aids, health workers and day care workers have received their early cash incentives from the Cebu provincial government.

A simple ceremony was held last week at Barangay Guinsay in Danao City attended by provincial, city and barangay officials.

Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale said the Cebu Provincial Board executed all means possible in order to release the allowances in time for Christmas celebration.

They received P1,500 each by the provincial government, Magpale said.

“Sama sa pagpangga ni Mayor Nito kaninyo, mao usab ang pagpangga ni Governor Junjun Davide,” Magpale said.

Magpale further assured them that the giving of cash incentives will be conducted annually because it already has a legal basis.

Also present at the distribution were Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III and Cebu Provincial Board Members Miguel Antonio Magpale and Jude Thaddeus Sybico.

Mayor Nito Durano, on the other hand, expressed his thanks to the Cebu Provincial government for extending cash incentives to barangay tanods and other barangay workers.

The mayor said barangay workers play an important role in the delivery of basic services to the people especially at the barangay level.

According to Mayor Durano, without the support and cooperation of barangay officials and other barangay workers, the implementation of projects by the city, municipal and provincial government will not succeed.

The Cebu Provincial Social Welfare Services, Provincial Public Information Office, Provincial Treasurer’s Office, and Provincial Heath Workers were also mobilized to assist the LGU in the distribution of the allowances.

Romulo Tejero, a tanod from Barangay Baliang, said he would share the cash with his family especially with his grandchildren.

“Kani nga pinaskohan, dako na kaayo ni ug ikatabang namo. Nalipay mi ug maayo kay ilaha ni nga gipaningkamotan nga mahatag ni kada tuig,” he added.
